Letter from the President
The takeover of Afghanistan by the Taliban has caused the issue of women’s rights to bob to the surface again. When an event such as this occurs, it loudly points up the desperate and crying situation of the lives of most women in the world.
In the USA, we are privileged to benefit from battles fought long before. We can’t slack off. It’s important for us carry on.
Women’s Caucus for Art has an important piece of this overall picture. Artists reach under the surface of the conscious babble of the day. The current underneath is often the strongest.
What we do here in the USA does affect the movement worldwide. Art is about ideas, and ideas have wings. With WCA, any one of us has the opportunity to carry the torch forward.
What is it that you will do?
Holly Stone
WCADC President 2020-2021
